The Health Sciences Librarian/Digital Asset Manager will provide information management services specializing in published information related to health, medicine, and the pharmaceutical industry to support teams across Sirtex. The Health Sciences Librarian/Digital Asset Manager will use search skills and tools to provide information to support Medical and Clinical Affairs, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, and Business Development activities. The Health Sciences Librarian/Digital Asset Manager will also provide training and support and maintain subscriptions and subscription-based systems related to medical publications and industry news. 

Responsibilities/Authorities:

  • Curates and oversees the digital library including access, training, and vendor management
  • Creates and maintains literature and information archiving and access solutions for the organization
  • Provides information retrieval, literature search, and bibliographic services to the organization in support of medical and clinical affairs, marketing, business development, and regulatory initiatives
  • Troubleshoots subscription access issues and other technical issues for manual and automated search processes
  • Supports existing database and library tools for information retrieval and result analysis.
  • Contributes to identification and evaluation of future tools to improve current information processes used by customers
  • Maintains reference management system (ex: EndNote or RefManager)
  • Manages and maintains corporate subscriptions including assessment of ROI
  • Able to provide clear, accurate, and creatively produced written work for a variety of audiences
  • Able to understand and summarize content from scientific articles
  • Responsible for the design, coordination, and support of user reports needed to support assessment of services
  • Interfaces with IT department to maintain appropriate systems and reports
  • Assists in addressing copyright questions   
  • Undergo all formal Training Events as may be Directed from time to time
  • Observe and Comply with all Sirtex Corporate Policies
  • Work within and ensure adherence to Quality System Procedures, work instructions and Quality System Requirements

Educational Prerequisites and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related discipline; Master’s in library or Information Science or other graduate degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in an information science/management, library science, or related role in a pharmaceutical/medical device/ healthcare related field/industry
  • Demonstrated ability in online searching using professional tools/databases
  • Experience with user testing and content management systems
  • Must have solid interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail required
  • Must have ability to work independently and arrange workload to meet priorities and deadlines
  • Experience with RightFind and EndNote a plus
  • Familiarity with copyright law a plus
