Director of Marketing, North America (Oncology preferred)

SCOPE:

The Director of Marketing will lead the marketing team in North America as the driving force behind the continued development and growth of the company’s targeted radiation therapy SIR-Spheres® as well as additional technologies that the organization will launch in the future.  This individual will be passionate about the ability to change medical practice and have an intimate understanding of clinical needs.  He/she will establish a scalable marketing organization and oversee all plans, initiatives, objectives, and activities, including alignment with the company’s corporate strategy. The Director of Marketing will also be responsible for supporting all commercial capabilities and relationships with external partners.  Responsibilities will also include overseeing the execution of trade shows, marketing campaigns/programs, professional physician education and the development of sales resources.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

The Director of Marketing, North America will report to the Global Head of Marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies with effective tactical plans to achieve sales targets and related goals.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial and medical team partners to ensure alignment and strong program/activity execution.
  • Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals with a focus on measurable goals and targets.
  • Oversee market analysis, actively monitor competitive activities (device and pharma) and provides periodic senior management reports.
  • Manage the overall expenses and budget for the marketing team in North America.
  • Design & implement conference/symposium strategies & tactics to support the business plan.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to align appropriate marketing activities related to symposiums, forthcoming prospective studies, registries, and post market studies.
  • Drive creativity and clear execution for all trade show activities for North America.
  • Collaborate closely with the professional education manager to ensure strategic alignment on all physician peer-to-peer education programs.
  • Direct the development of marketing campaigns, sales resources, support tools and programs designed to grow the business as well as inspire and motivate the sales team.
  • Partner with key organizational stakeholders to ensure good cross-functional communication and alignment around key initiatives.
  • Develop and foster long-standing and productive relationships with influential key opinion leaders.
  • Ensure every item released to customers complies with the local regulatory authorities and has been approved in line with the Sirtex approval process.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Global Head of Marketing.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of relevant marketing experience in the medical device / pharmaceutical industry experience with 4+ years of leadership experience.  Oncology experience very strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA with a Marketing emphasis or related discipline preferred.
  • The ability to create and articulate an inspiring vision for the organization.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Complete the Sirtex Medical sales training program.
  • Sirtex internal processes and procedures.
  • Attend other training programs as requested.
