Marketing Manager – Asia Pacific

SCOPE:

The Marketing Manager focuses on developing and implementing regional strategies in line with regional and global marketing to execute operation and marketing plans. The focus is on market development, product positioning, market penetration, product launches, marketing training, key opinion leader development, marketing communications, and trade show execution. The Marketing Manager works in collaboration with relevant departments to focus on customer feedback for product enhancement, forecasting and supply chain input, internal/external technical education, and training and programs for expanding SIR-Spheres® Y90 resin microspheres market size and market share.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

  • This role reports to the Director of Marketing – Asia Pacific.

RESPONSIBILITIES / AUTHORITIES:

  • Assists with the planning and execution of tradeshows, conferences and physician-facing meetings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Congress-related reservations for booth space, symposia and onsite-services
  • Primary contact with stand/booth builders
  • KOL speaker contract preparation as well as follow-up for invoicing and payment
  • Arranging travel, registration and hotel for KOL speakers
  • Organizing customer dinner events
  • Providing hotel booking and congress registration for staff in addition to ensuring clear attendee communication 
  • Providing on-site event support, if applicable
  • Develops commercialization plans, leads and manages the execution of new product launches
  • Responsible for providing annual sales and marketing plans, quarterly updates and forecasts, revisions, and necessary modifications in line with the approved APAC business plan, by working with the Director of Marketing - APAC
  • Develop marketing and resource allocation budget in alignment with APAC sales and marketing goals by working closely with the Director of Marketing - APAC
  • Actively manage Key Opinion Leaders relationships, speaker development programs and conference activities throughout the APAC region
  • Provides regular reports to the regional head on post-market activities in relation to the product, the market, and competitive activities
  • Assess market competition by comparing the Company’s product to competitors’ products
  • Assists in overall market assessments of potential new marketing and educational program opportunities under the direction of senior management, including internal and external projects
  • Determine customers’ needs and desires by specifying/conducting the research needed to obtain market information
  • Works with Medical and Sales teams to set up physician training and education; monitors post training results by physician to assess cost/benefit
  • Maintains APAC Sales Database and provides analysis on key initiatives and current sales data
  • Builds a working knowledge of Sirtex clinical science and technology and becomes capable and comfortable writing promotional and educational copy
  • Keep current with all continuing education on latest information related disease states and the changing business environment
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet Company core values
  • Undergo all formal training events as may be directed from time-to-time
  • Observe and Comply with all Sirtex Corporate Policies
  • Work within, and ensure adherence to Quality System procedures, work instructions and other Quality System requirements
  • Work within, and ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environment Management System procedures, instructions and other requirements

EDUCATIONAL PREREQUISITES AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Science and/or Bachelor degree
  • Fluency in Mandarin preferred
  • Minimum 5 years in medical device/pharmaceutical marketing/business management role; some medical device sales experience preferred
  • Direct line management experience preferred
  • Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time.
